Mission Statement:
The Board's Energy Efficiency policy is to seek the
most effective use of energy resources at all Board locations
consistent with the Department of Education and the Northern
Ireland Audit Office guidelines.
The Government public sector energy efficiency campaign has set a target of a 1% per annum reduction in greenhouse gas emissions from buildings.
The Energy Efficiency policy and programme is designed to achieve this target through the implementation of the following key elements:-

Energy monitoring, analysis and reporting

Identifying, evaluating and recommending energy saving measures

Preparing and submitting financial appraisals to fund energy saving projects.

Preparing Post Project Evaluation of Energy Efficiency measures

Designing, implementing and supervising a planned programme of energy saving measures

Providing training, advice and guidance on good energy management practices and procedures

Promoting a culture of energy awareness
