Corporate Plan 2006/2008
The WELB is pleased to introduce its Corporate Plan for 2006 - 2008, which seeks to provide a framework for WELB during a period of unprecedented levels of change, enabling it to continue to provide quality services whilst shaping and preparing for the future. The Plan is innovative and forward looking, it has considered the views and suggestions of many stakeholders and it appeals to people at all levels across the Board.
The Plan recognises the Board's achievements and its tradition of providing quality education, library and youth services within available resources during a very challenging time for education in Northern Ireland. The Board is confident that the Plan provides a way forward which will enable the Board to continue to operate at a high standard. The development of the Plan bears testament to the importance of continuity during a period of change.
The Plan sets out the strategic focus and direction for delivery of Education, Library and Youth services for 2006-2008. In developing the Plan, the Board engaged in a widespread consultation process with schools, government departments, Board members, staff, education partners, the general public, young people, unions and other stakeholders. This has resulted in a Plan which is user friendly, accessible, and is firmly focused on supporting learning and creating a shared vision.
We are proud of the WELB's achievements and its tradition of providing quality education, library and youth services within available resources during a very challenging time for education in Northern Ireland. We are confident that this Plan provides a way forward which will enable the Board to continue to operate at a high standard.
