ICT Management Services are responsible for the management and delivery of all ICT services for administration in EAWR. The network infrastructure that connects the 18 out-centres distributed geographically from Gortatole to Magilligan Field Centre and the ongoing connection to the five Board NNI network are managed by ICT staff.

LOGON and authentication for the 800 users including data storage requirements, email delivery and Internet access, is continually monitored and managed, filtering out the tens of thousands of SPAM emails and ensuring successful delivery of the tens of thousands of legitimate messages.

All 800 workstations are continuously kept up-to-date with operating system updates and antivirus software and up to 1 Terabyte of data is backed up daily and stored in a fireproof safe.

Applications supported include standard office packages in addition to Pupil services, Human Resources, Payroll, Property Service CAD and Unitas in School Meals Kitchens.

Much of the work of the Section is transparent to the users, as our objective is to provide a secure modern technical infrastructure, which acts as an enabler to the business side for the efficient delivery of their services.
